BEACON QTH ZEVENBERGEN SOUTH WEST PART OF THE NETHERLANDS |
 |
| Welcome to the webpage of the beacon
station PI7BRG 2M (Freq 144.4310MHz) |
| |
| Long
distance radio propagation, intense tropospheric inversion
layers may result in the ducting of radio waves which enables long
distance radio propagation in VHF, UHF and SHF too. |
| The
beacon PI7BRG is a troposperic radio propagation beacon, whose purpose
is the investigation of the propagation of radio signals. |
The
propagation type is abbreviated to two characters:
TR=Tropo, RS=Rain scatter, AS=Aircraft scatter, SS=Snow scatter,
MS=Meteor scatter, ES=Sporadic 'E' (VHF), AU=Auroral (VHF/UHF),
AE=Auroral 'E' (VHF),TEP=Transequatorial propagation (VHF), F2=via F2
layer (VHF). |

The beacon is audible every day, even
under very poor conditions – approx 519 but +/- 10dB of fading due to
aircraft etc. The strength is comparable with PI7PRO and PI7HVN which
are also audible all of the time. However all three are far weaker than
DM0DUB or ON0VHF which are both around 569 +/- 15dB.
